Why

We took a trip to the seaside I held you tightly by the hand We took a dip by the moonlight You left your Nikes on the sand I didn't come to see the ocean I didn't come to see the sights I know that something here is broken And I can see it in your eyes But I don't see why No, I don't see why No, I don't see why No, I don't see why I didn't come to hear the silence And all the havoc it could wreak I've never seen you with your tongue tied I count the minutes till you speak When did you get shy? You're not yourself tonight I see I see it in your eyes But I don't see why No, I don't see why No, I don't see why No, I don't see why I'll be lookin' for the stars From the backseat of your car Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh I'll be lookin' for the stars In the backseat of your car Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh I didn't come to see the ocean I didn't come to see the beach I know that something here is broken And I can see the pieces at my feet When did you get shy? You're not yourself tonight While I just played dumb You've been busy growin' up But I don't see why No, I don't see why No, I don't see why No, I don't see why No, I don't see why No, I don't see why No, I don't see why No, I don't see why
