The Idea Of Her

She was the one I had my reasons She gave me something Something to believe in Sleepless at night It’s quarter to three I’m having cold cold sweats I need some relief She was my one drug Show up when I’m low She got me high all the time I hate feeling out of control She was my first love I can’t let her go She was my very own Caramel Marilyn Monroe I close my eyes and I dream Saw what I wanted to see I remember back when life was a blur I forced myself to believe That she was perfect for me I fell in love with the idea of her I fell in love with the idea of her Lied to myself Ignored all the warnings I knew what it was But I cannot love the girl she’s becoming Now that I’ve realized I wasn’t ready for it I take the blame I tried to change The person she was I close my eyes and I dream Saw what I wanted to see I remember back when life was a blur I forced myself to believe That she was perfect for me I fell in love with the idea of her I fell in love with the idea of her I fell in love with the idea of her I close my eyes and I dream Saw what I wanted to see I remember back when life was a blur I forced myself to believe That she was perfect for me I fell in love with the idea of her
