A Thief In The Night

hiding in your midnight garden crushed blossom under my feet but the scent of bougainvillea is like the smell of deceit i wait to meet in velvet darkness i smell the sweet on my skin stare at the lighted windows that's where you sleep next to him and the darkness fills my heart and meanness in my soul then your footsteps approach and i know right now is you are in my arms your breath is on my breath and the feeling's so strong but we both know that we're just doing wrong and it used to feel right we used to feel alive now we're sneaking off to hide out od sight and going out of our minds concealing a lie way do i find that i'm cheated? wind up creeping like a thief in the night so deep in double dealing where does dishonesty end? each day i have to meet him while i'm alone in my car driving home, i wonder who's been hurt so far? cos i know who i despise no more false compromise all along admit it we are in the wrong but it used to feel right we used to feel alive no we're sneaking off to hide out of sight and going out of our mind concealing a lie yes i wonder who i'm cheating when i sneak off like a thief in the night
