Tryin' My Best, Los Angeles

I always dreamed of this place Where ocean meets sky My name on a dotted line I got caught up in a wave Of traffic on vine Stuck here waiting for a sign Stuck here waiting for a sign [Chorus] Well, I'm tryin' my best, Los Angeles Till the last sunset, Los Angeles Well, you lit this fire, years ago And it gets me higher, I can't let it go And I'm tryin' my best, Los Angeles Los Angeles [Verse 2] They say it's all who you know But I dropped all my names By now even mine has changed Sometimes I stare at the phone Like I'm prayin' for rain It'll be here any day It'll be here any day Oh, whoa [Chorus] And I'm tryin' my best, Los Angeles Till the last sun sets, Los Angeles Well, you lit this fire, years ago And it gets me higher, I can't let it go And I'm tryin' my best, Los Angeles Los Angeles [Bridge] More than I imagined More than I was asking for Anything can happen In a city of open doors Laughin' and cryin' Either way, you know I'm yours There's so much left to do Ooh, hey [Chorus] And I'm tryin' my best Yeah, I'm tryin my best Well, I'm tryin' my best, Los Angeles Till the last sun sets, Los Angeles Well, you lit this fire, years ago And it gets me higher, I can't let it go And I'm tryin' my best, Los Angeles [Outro] Los Angeles Los Angeles I always dreamed of this place Where ocean meets sky
