Pools

When I was young I used to check for you under my bed (Under my bed) But now I'm older and instead I let you sleep on it (sleep on it) You're smoking five days a week Don't you say I'm why you can't breathe You got nerve sayin' it ain't that deep Friends don't wear skin to sleep Why'd you let me sink in pools of wishful thinking? I don't want to swim anymore Look at all these bloodstains I've been calling warpaint There ain't nothing here to fight for King of my condo, there's a second toothbrush by the sink (by the sink) Then I ask where your kingdom lies You hand me a blank map with X in ink (X in ink) I'm every metaphor You hold me like I'm your everything and more But when the sun rays greet the floor You make it clear I'm everything but yours Why'd you let me sink in pools of wishful thinking? I don't want to swim anymore Look at all these bloodstains I've been calling warpaint There ain't nothing left to fight for I'm givin' up the fight Ain't gonna waste my time You go run for your life Be my guest, be my guest Oh, I'll be fine Oh, I'll be fine
