I Won`t Look Back

One time bitten, two times shy It was written there - in letters ten feet high That this woman loves - that man Even the biggest fool - could understand But then your blue eyes turned grey You spoke a lot - but had nothing to say So I won't look back I won't look back You had all of me there for the taking But men like you Can't help just breaking Down the roses And trampling - them flat One time bitten - two times shy It's true I was smitten then, and you know why You charmed me off my feet Using your beautiful smile, so bittersweet But then your blue eyes turned grey You spoke so much, but had nothing to say So I won't look back I won't look back Even though I know you really tried to love me It was not enough you simply had to shove me In a corner babe, and hey - I don't want that I gave you my best, but you blew it You threw it back at me You can't have the rest 'Cos that's Private Property No I won't look back I won't look back When I think I see you in the distance I call on all of my resistance And tell myself - hey girl - don't you crack
