Help Me

[Chorus] I can't help myself Lord it's hard to change, I can't help myself I can't help myself, I need some help I can't help myself Oh I can't help myself Just be patient, I know you waiting for me to change I can't help myself, I need some help I can't help myself [Verse 1] To these substances, I'm powerless It's like I could never win but I was hopeful 'bout my averages I skipped school, hated the faculty I ain't give a fuck like I was abstinent They killed that like a casualty I fell in love but I was bad at it I love drugs but I'm bad at 'em They told me everything in moderation, including moderation My tolerance went up, I made accommodations I had several girls I stayed at all their places All different races All pretty faces I smoked weed in Cali I sip lean in Texas Did blow in Vegas All kinds of reckless Lost my ex-girl Cause I was too possessive Thought I was playing chess While they were playing checkers But you get tired of the bullshit Then you realize that you the culprit [Chorus] I can't help myself Lord it's hard to change, I can't help myself I can't help myself, I need some help I can't help myself Oh I can't help myself Just be patient, I know you waiting for me to change I can't help myself, I need some help I can't help myself [Verse 2] Yeah But they still singin' along, they know all my songs Me and authority we never got along When you find yourself alone, how you gettin' home And you tryna find the answer in that styrofoam They told me I would use my brain if I had one And that the next one worse than the last one Bad influence always hangin' with the bad ones Not the good ones, feel at home with the hoodlums I just fell down, can you help me up? My 15 seconds is already up And now I'm here stranded Feelin' like I'm empty handed Why am I the only one here with an empty cup? And me I love to put my problems on the shelf And try to reshuffle the cards I was dealt But then you get tired of the bullshit Then you realize that you the culprit [Chorus] I can't help myself Lord it's hard to change, I can't help myself I can't help myself, I need some help I can't help myself Oh I can't help myself Just be patient, I know you waiting for me to change I can't help myself, I need some help I can't help myself [Interlude] If you're asked "are you OK?" And you say "fine" Or you say "good" What does fine mean? Every time I'd ask somebody You know "what's up?", "how you doin'?", "how you been?" It's always "I been good, I been, I been good man" "I'm fine, I'm alright" We rarely tell each other, exactly what's goin' on So, you know when people ask me like "how are you?' And like that's the question people are gonna ask This is the answer to that question [Chorus] I can't help myself Lord it's hard to change, I can't help myself I can't help myself, I need some help I can't help myself Oh I can't help myself Just be patient, I know you waiting for me to change I can't help myself, I need some help I can't help myself
