Requiem

Today, we could fly along Watching all the things above the ground. Searching for what lies beyond the sky, Then lovers—that's what they’d call us two When we point back toward home Could you sing us a requiem Like a sweet lullaby Let us rest in peace Now heaven’s so close In the echoes of one last song Where we truly do belong Our heart beats were true Lead us to our twilight home When the song is over Covered in bright lights Are we turning into angels Somehow, I slowly understand The birth, the death, and in between When we point back toward home Could you sing us a requiem Like a sweet lullaby Let us rest in peace Now heaven’s so close In the echoes of one last song Where we truly do belong Our heart beats were true Lead us to our twilight home When the song is over In this solemn serenity We took an oath to Heavenly Father Oh God Please, Look after Your sons and your daughters Forever and more
