Chasing Us (Feat. Paul Kim)

Hold your head high You will survive Don't let em doubt you There's nothing you can't do I believe we'll succeed Don't ever let em doubt you You're making your dreams come true I've been told that your passion's not conventional Following dreams that are pre deemed as trash But if they only seen half of the faces that I've encountered They would testify in one voice that words is power And I mean that from the bottom of my soul Soldiers that I've known who reminisce on being home And the music is my method of a countdown or direction Lessons that I've learned that I pre packed on a record So I slow down my tempo clarify my metaphors Make light of my window wage right to declare a war Against the evils that have pre screened the passionate In my season I've re teamed with my catalyst Re dreamed of an action list so the action is Exhale any past minor falls they were practices And nows the real deal cause this is prime time So chuck your hands up dance and baby let the lights shine Hold your head high You will survive Don't let em doubt you There's nothing you can't do I believe we'll succeed Don't ever let em doubt you You're making your dreams come true I never said that I was the best at really anything And my intentions well that speaks for itself See I fell so many times that I remember slow motion What it's like to have the chance to recapture all of my dreams again I guess it's why that I speak easily seize a pen Breathe freely when beats weave at a key event And that's just part of my culture my connotation My respect for different genres that empowers generations of artists that were taught to be quiet but never thought of it And Singers rap actors or dancers were never targeted And this might fly over the heads of those who missed it But for years this platform that we have was non existent Much love to Anna May Wong and those who did it Of course Bruce who shattered the rules of a leading actor And now its after the chapters now upon us Believe in yourself and there is nothing you can't accomplish Hold your head high You will survive Don't let em doubt you There's nothing you can't do I believe we'll succeed Don't ever let em doubt you You're making your dreams come true I used to worry bout my image when I got personal Making sure my flows were dope in every syllable And I was taught that as a rapper I was limited To the topics I could speak on cash girls or a mix of both And it was crazy that It didn't come to me sooner That our craft was being barely represented And so I vented through any tracklist like I needed it If I can't change the game then I will sleep in it And I will write from sunrise until the evening In hopes that my words could touch another soul And maybe that's you sitting by the negatives A bunch of negativity and questions bout your relevance I'm here to tell you that you're beautiful and talented And don't call it quits just cause it ain't happen yet A million likes doesn't tell me who you are But a star is represented by the passion in they heart when you're hurt and lost don't lose your way use the hope to wash the pain away yeah there's a promise of a better day it's okay it's okay the best things are worth the wait Hold your head high You will survive Don't let em doubt you There's nothing you can't do I believe we'll succeed Don't ever let em doubt you You're making your dreams come true Hold your head high You will survive Don't let em doubt you There's nothing you can't do I believe we'll succeed Don't ever let em doubt you You're making your dreams come true
