Faith Is A Lie

I couldn’t really tell you what I want to say I’m grateful for the promises you didn’t make Trying to understand who I wanna be And who you want me to be Disappointment didn’t bother either one of us We always chose to care for the ones we love Regardless of what it is to really love Trust me the irony isn’t lost on me Someday in this song I’ll find A reason I fight to survive A reason I can feel alive Dwelling in farewells and unspoken cries Faith is a lie but love never dies Daddy you’re the closest thing to God I know I know you aren’t perfect but you could’ve tried to be I’ve tested my luck a lot more than you know But would you wanna know Mama you didn’t age the way you’d promised to When you were 23 just like me Were you ever the way that I used to be You and I are both aware that you still dream Someday in this song I’ll find The reason I fight to survive The reason I can feel alive Dwelling in farewells and unspoken cries Faith is a lie but love never dies Mistakes I know have been made I know I’m flawed broken beyond But I know my will and desire won’t fail ‘Cause faith is a lie but love never dies
