last month’s rent

Through the window right above your bed the sunbeams show our mornings left 2 years inside a humble space Too grateful that it’s kept us safe By the front door we pile all our bags It reminds me some things won’t always last I forced myself to say goodbye but I’ll miss my friend who’s seen me cry And at times it feels like my last month's rent still due Cause our home still haunts me when I think of you Through the window Through the window Through the window right above my bed I stare into the moonlight Wondering if I knew in hindsight Hoping you’re living a good life I pray you get a good night’s rest I stare into the moonlight Wondering if I knew in hindsight Hoping you’re living a good life I pray you get a good night’s rest
