I'm Not The Father

If you saw me healing a blind man If I was walking on water, would you think it's an illusion And tell me, if I, if I told you I was sent here Would you call me a madman and clap me in irons Oh, if I, if I said I was a lonely man Would you believe me I'm not the father, I'm not the ghost I'm the truth and the critical mass you fear the most I'm not the father, I'm not a saint I'm the conscious man in the thoughtless modern age Please don't turn your back on me I'm not the father, I'm not the father I'm not the father, I'm not the father If you saw me flying with the eagles If I was shaking with madness, turning over tables Oh, tell me, could you, could you ever conceive it Do you really believe it Or do you just read it I tell you somewhere, there's a prophet in a padded cell You'll never know him I'm not the father, I'm not the ghost I'm the truth and the critical mass you fear the most I'm not the father, I'm not a saint I'm the conscious man in the thoughtless modern age Please don't turn your back on me I'm not the father, I'm not the father I'm not the father, I'm not the father Can you hear me in the darkness I wanna tell you tonight, I wanna tell you tonight Can you hear me in the darkness I wanna tell you tonight, I wanna tell you now If I, if I said I was a lonely man Would you believe me I'm not the father, I'm not the ghost I'm the truth and the critical mass you fear the most I'm not the father, I'm not a saint I'm the conscious man in the thoughtless modern age Please don't turn your back on me I'm not the father, I'm not the father I'm not the father, I'm not the father I'm not the father, I'm not the father I'm not the father, I'm not the father I'm not the father, I'm not the father I'm not the father, I'm not the father
