Cruise Control

Sitting all alone in his SUV He’s thinking bout the last three weeks In and out He was gone without a sound Yesterday he woke up late And he drank the night straight through Still half drunk he left Yes he packed and hit the road Don’t know why she told me I’m not welcome there Can’t be my fault baby Why can’t you be clear Nameless then Forgotten now 55 miles on cruise control He’s thinking bout the next 3 weeks Going home he wonders Oh what will they think Just a month ago he told them he was headed South to start anew No time for his hair to grow He’s headed home too soon Don’t know why she told me I’m not welcome there Can’t be my fault baby Why can’t you be clear Nameless then Forgotten now He’s drivin down the interstate And he says to himself I don’t need them anyway Don’t know why she told me I’m not welcome there Can’t be my fault baby Why can’t you be clear Don’t know why they tell me I’m not welcome there It must be my fault baby Why can’t you be clear He went home that day Alone ever since
