summer after senior year (feat. Michael Carreon)

Never thought about taxes I was worried ‘bout being a misfit Never thought about having kids All I wanted was my driver’s permit When you’re sixteen in 2008 You dream about speeding down the interstate When you’re eighteen in 2010 All you cared about was your friends We drove 10 miles over the limit Just because we can And we rolled all of the windows down In your parents’ minivan We turned up all our favorite songs To sing them at the top of our lungs And we tried to grow up fast Though we knew it wouldn’t last ‘Cause we’ll never be as free As the summer after senior year Didn’t need any money Too busy breaking all the rules $5 was plenty Just to buy you lunch at school Never stepped foot inside of a bank Didn’t know anything about a 401k I wish that I could go back to the days When all I wanted was straight As We drove 10 miles over the limit Just because we can And we rolled all of the windows down In your parents’ minivan We turned up all our favorite songs To sing them at the top of our lungs And we tried to grow up fast Though we knew it wouldn’t last ‘Cause we’ll never be as free As the summer after senior year ‘Cause we’ll never be as free As the summer after senior year
