Love Doesn't Always Come (On The Night It's Needed)

I just saw the sun go down behind a purple sky Watched the daylight slowly fade and die Saw two lovers close their door And turn out their bedroom light Wishin' you were here with me tonight Picked up a book And tried my best to read it But love doesn't always come on the nights you need it Lying here I feel so lost In this big king-size bed Reached down And ran my fingers cross the satin spread Thought of how it felt to lay my head upon your chest Lord I've never felt such loneliness Nights like this I feel I'm being cheated But love doesn't always come on the nights you need it On the nights I need you So what do I do Where do I go I need you to make me feel completed But love doesn't always come on the nights you need it No love doesn't always come on the nights you need it
