last year’s resolution

2022 and being twenty-two were nothing Did I really miss the timing? Life has been giving me lemons But I’ve never made it into lemonade Time is flying fast But I can't stop looking back on the past Think I’ve wasted too much time on the gram Compare myself to them, oh what a shame Snow has covered the street Everything’s beautiful but those are not for me I’m swimming in the pool of thoughts To connect the dots I wish I’d done better I thought that I'm the one But dreams are far away And everything I’ve wished so badly fades to gray 2023, is this year all new and shiny? Hope I haven’t missed the timing Life is still giving me lemons But how would I turn them into lemonade? 2010 When I first draw my dreams inside my head Always said, “It’s gonna turn out great” Was I that stupid to believe in fate? Snow has covered the street Everything’s beautiful but those are not for me I’m swimming in the pool of thoughts To connect the dots I wish I’d done better (It really doesn’t matter) I thought that I'm the one But dreams are far away And everything I’ve wished so badly fades to gray Would things turn out great? Some are doubting my fate I’m not a nihilist, hmm, nor an optimist But I’d rather say, “Next chapter’s bright as day” So turn the page Would things turn out great? Some are doubting my fate I’m not a nihilist, hmm, nor an optimist But I’d rather say, “Next chapter’s bright as day” So turn the page
