Mein Zweites Herz

MY SECOND HEART] Who are you still trying to deceive now? Who are you trying to hide? Am I not a human being? Made of flesh and blood? Am I merely a dream? The soul effusive Have I no heart? So I have two Standing shattered by vanity Tortured in reality A dark corner of my smile How clearly my reflection appears And how contorted I appear to myself How superficially a mirror paints my face And how layered it gapes open and speaks: "If you kiss and think of murder My second heart - don't worry I'll cover you up daily protect you - as you do me Always only do your duty Since no-one recognises and hears you!" Too stupid that I lay myself open once Too stupid that I didn't silently lie Late however I had to realise That you, my right heart - always loved me the left
